Blending cultural richness and technological innovation, promoting culture preservation in an increasingly globalized world.

Promise Abodunrin is a Nigerian visual artist raised and currently practicing in Lagos, Nigeria. He discovered his love for drawing at the tender age, filling his school notes with sketches, and getting summoned by teachers to help with diagrams. This passion for art grew from a hobby into an obsession, leading him to ditch a career in statistics for full-time art practice as soon as he completed his university education.

Lacking an academic background in art, his passion and skill grew through grit and experimentation, drawing inspiration from other artists until he found a direction for his craft. Promise is currently exploring Afro-futurism, an interesting fusion of African cultural richness and technological innovation, merging the old and the new, as his way of promoting culture preservation in an increasingly globalized world.

“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” – John Lubbock

“The Earth’s beauty is in diversity, it’s why people travel to experience places and cultures different from their own. What a tragedy it would be for long standing traditions to be lost to globalization, for the world to become one big blur.” – Promise Abodunrin
